What are the race categories?

The race categories are full marathon, half marathon, relay and half marathon walk.  Every participant must register themselves and indicate their agreement with the waiver.

Relay teams of two, three or four runners are allowed. Each team member must register themselves, and all members of the team will need to identify the name of their team when they register.   Each team member must identify the leg, or legs, that they will be running.

What are the age categories?

There are 5 age categories for Marathon and Half Marathon runners and walkers based on the age on race day:

  • Masters P3 70 years and older
  • Masters PP (Masters Plus Plus) 60 years to 69 years
  • Masters P (Masters Plus) - 50 to 59 years
  • Masters - 40 to 49 years of age
  • Open - 14 to 39 years of age

When is parental consent required?

Only runners aged 14 years or older on race day are eligible to register. Parental consent is required for all runners below the age of 18 years on race day. Young runners can register on line, but must submit a signed hard copy of the parental consent form (found here) when they pick up their bibs. Alternatively, the signed consent form can be scanned and emailed to register@yukonmarathon.com. Please note that bib packages will not be handed out unless a signed parental consent form is received at or before bib pickup.

How do I register?

Registration for the Yukon River Trail Marathon is ONLY available on-line. Every runner must register individually. If you are a member of the relay team, there is a place on the registration site for the name of your team. The race fee is payable on-line by credit card. On-line registration is available until midnight Sunday July 30, unless the race is sold out earlier.

What are the fees?

The registration fee is $60 per person. The shirt is an additional purchase, not included in the registration fee and is optional.

There will be no refunds for registration fees or shirt purchases. Registered participants who cannot take part in the event can however pick up their race package at the bib pick up or  transfer their registration to another participant before midnight Sunday July 30. For information on how to transfer registrations, please go to the tab called "Changes and Transfers."

If travel to the Yukon is restricted, or the race is cancelled because of new restrictions imposed by Yukon’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, registered participants can apply their registration fee to the 2024 race.

Please note that any race packages that are not picked up by the end of bib pickup  are forfeited.

When and where do we pickup the race package?

Bib pick-up and orientation takes place on Friday, August 5 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday, August 6 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  Check back here closer to race day for the location of bib pick up.

Bib pickup at Rotary Park on race day will be limited to out-of-town participants.  If you live in a rural Yukon community, please make every effort to have a friend or family member who lives in Whitehorse pick up your bib package during the scheduled times if you are unable to do so.

If you are from outside of Yukon and are able to pick up your bib package  during scheduled pick up times, please do so.  If you are unable to pick up your bib package during the scheduled hours, please send an email to register@yukonmarathon.com to make alternative arrangements.

Race shirts

When you register you have the option of purchasing a race shirt.  This year the race shirt is short-sleeved and grey in colour.
